NBR 6240

NBR 6240

Nitrile Butadiene Rubber 6240 LG

Description

NBR 6240 belongs to the group of synthetic rubbers.

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) with 34% acrylonitrile content and a specific gravity of 0.99—commonly known as oil-resistant rubber—is produced by emulsion polymerization of the two monomers butadiene and acrylonitrile.

Nitrile rubber (NBR) is widely used in the automotive and aerospace industries for the production of fuel and oil transfer hoses, seals, gasoline tanks, and linings, where the use of conventional rubber is not suitable.

This material is capable of withstanding a wide temperature range from −40°C to +180°C (−40°F to +226°F), and due to these properties, it is extensively used in the aviation industry.
