Description
Stearic Acid (Flake) 1810
Stearic Acid Flake Grade 1810, produced according to its chemical formulation, has a wide range of applications. Asa Sanat Satya Trading Company, with a strong background in supplying raw materials for manufacturers, has been able to offer this product to the market with high quality and competitive pricing.
Stearic acid (octadecanoic acid) in flake form is a solid, white, wax-like material and is one of the most common long-chain fatty acids. It exists as a glycerol ester in most animal and vegetable fats.
Stearic acid is a non-toxic, long-chain fatty acid and is considered chemically stable. It belongs to the group of activators and has the chemical formula C₁₈H₃₆O₂. Stearic acid is practically insoluble in water but slightly soluble in alcohol.
This product is manufactured through the hydrolysis of triglycerides. It is produced from fats and oils in hot water under high pressure. Commercial stearic acid is usually a mixture of palmitic acid and stearic acid.
Applications of Stearic Acid:
- Rubber manufacturing
- Dietary supplements
- Rubber softener
- Soap production
- Candle making
- Emulsifier in cosmetic products
- Pharmaceutical and cosmetic products
Stearic acid can also act as a dual-function additive in external lubricant blends. Engineers use stearic acid as a surface treatment to help release products from molds, and at higher concentrations, it is added to polymers. It is commonly used as a lubricant in injection molding processes, ceramic powder pressing, and as a mold-release agent for latex foam cured in stone molds.
