Rubbers
Natural caoutchouc, or natural rubber, is obtained from the sap of certain plants and is widely used due to its high elasticity.
Since World War II, synthetic rubber has expanded rapidly because of its greater resistance to heat, oil, and chemicals.
Caoutchouc is a white latex that protects plants and is mainly composed of polymer chains of isoprene.
It is produced by collecting tree sap, filtering and coagulating it, then drying it into sheets or granules.
Through vulcanization with sulfur, the rubber gains increased strength, durability, and elasticity.
